Liebe Mitglieder,
wir möchten euch heute über einige bedeutende Neuerungen informieren. Dabei geht es um die Anpassung der Teilnehmergebühren, wichtige Änderungen unserer Tanzrichtlinien sowie die spannende Entwicklung rund um die Anerkennung respektive Vergabe von österreichischen Staatsmeistertiteln. Uns ist bewusst, dass diese Themen für euch von großem Interesse sind. Deshalb legen wir großen Wert auf eine transparente und verständliche Darstellung.
Teilnehmergebühren – Mehr Wert für euch!
Die Anpassung der Teilnehmergebühren ermöglicht es uns, die Qualität unserer Veranstaltungen weiterhin auf höchstem Niveau zu sichern und gleichzeitig neue Vorteile für euch zu schaffen.
Ab sofort gilt:
- Eure Tanzfotos werden bereits nach der ersten Runde direkt an eure Tanzschulen gesendet.
- Ab 2025 vergeben wir in Kooperation mit ÖTSV und Sport Austria die neuen APAD-Meistertitel, die in weiterer Folge zu offiziellen Österreichischen Staatsmeistertiteln führen!

Warten gehört der Vergangenheit an! Ab der kommenden Saison könnt ihr alle Bilder eurer Tänze bereits kurz nach der Qualifikationsrunde online abrufen und herunterladen.
So funktioniert es:
Nach der ersten Runde erhält eure Schule einen Downloadlink, den sie an alle Tänzerinnen und Tänzer weitergibt. Damit habt ihr sofort Zugriff auf eure Bilder, könnt sie ansehen, teilen und posten – direkt während der Meisterschaft!
Staatsmeistertitel – ein Meilenstein für den Tanzsport
Tanz vereint Sport und Kunst wie kaum eine andere Disziplin. Tanzschulen, Tanzstudios und Vereine in Österreich entwickeln sich seit Jahren dynamisch weiter und erzielen auch international beeindruckende Erfolge.
Ein bedeutender Schritt wurde nun gesetzt:
Im August 2025 wurde die Austrian Performing Arts Dancesport Association (APAD) offiziell als Mitglied im ÖTSV aufgenommen – dem einzigen österreichischen Fachsportverband für Tanz.
Damit erhalten Tanzrichtungen wie Commercial, Jazzdance, Step, Contemporary, Lyrical und viele weitere erstmals die Möglichkeit, als anerkannte Sportarten im Leistungssport vertreten zu sein.

Richtlinienänderungen – neue Klarheit in den Kategorien
Um unseren Wettbewerb noch klarer und fairer zu gestalten, haben wir die Kategorien angepasst:
- Paar/Trio/Quartett: 2–4 Personen
- Kleingruppe: 5–12 Personen
- Gruppe: ab 13 Personen
Neue Disziplin: Parents & Friends
Wir freuen uns besonders, euch eine neue Kategorie vorstellen zu dürfen: „Parents & Friends“.
- Erlaubt sind alle Tanztechniken und Stilrichtungen.
- Bewertet werden vor allem Ausdruckskraft, kreative Ideen und Synchronität.
- Die Choreografie soll überwiegend von Eltern, Freunden oder Personen ohne professionelle Tanzausbildung getanzt werden.
- Teilnahme ist in den Kategorien Kleingruppe (5–12 Tänzer:innen) und Gruppe (ab 13 Tänzer:innen) möglich.
- Beim Durchschnittsalter darf weiterhin keine zwei Altersgruppen übersprungen werden.
Unser Fazit
Wir sind überzeugt, dass diese Neuerungen einen echten Mehrwert für euch darstellen. Sie tragen dazu bei, die Organisation unserer Meisterschaften noch besser zu machen und gleichzeitig die Anerkennung des Tanzsports in Österreich auf ein neues Niveau zu heben.

We would like to inform you today about some important updates. These include adjustments to the participation fees, key changes to our dance competition rules, and exciting developments regarding the recognition and awarding of Austrian national championship titles. We understand that these topics are of great interest to you. Therefore, we are committed to providing clear and transparent information.
Participant Fees – More Value for You!
The adjustment of the participant fees allows us to maintain the high quality of our events while creating new benefits for you.
Effective immediately:
- Your dance photos will be sent directly to your dance school after the first round.
- Starting in 2025, in cooperation with ÖTSV and Sport Austria, we will award the new APAD Championship titles, which will subsequently lead to official Austrian National Championship titles!
Your dance photos available immediately
Waiting is a thing of the past! From the upcoming season, you can access and download all the photos of your dances online shortly after the qualifying round.
Here's how it works:
After the first round, your school will receive a download link, which they will share with all dancers. This gives you immediate access to your photos, allowing you to view, share, and post them – right during the championship!
National Championship Titles – a Milestone for Dance Sport
Dance combines sport and art like no other discipline. Dance schools, studios, and clubs in Austria have been developing dynamically for years and have achieved impressive international success.
A significant step has now been taken:
In August 2025, the Austrian Performing Arts Dancesport Association (APAD) was officially accepted as a member of ÖTSV – the only Austrian sports association for dance.
This gives dance styles such as Commercial, Jazz Dance, Step, Contemporary, Lyrical, and many others the opportunity to be recognized as sports in competitive dance for the first time.

Rule Changes – Greater Clarity in the Categories
To make our competition even clearer and fairer, we have adjusted the categories:
- Duo/Trio/Quartet: 2–4 people
- Small Group: 5–12 people
- Large Group: 13 or more people
New Discipline: Parents & Friends
We are particularly pleased to introduce a new category: “Parents & Friends”.
- All dance techniques and styles are permitted.
- The judging criteria will focus on expressiveness, creativity, and synchronization.
- The choreography should primarily be performed by parents, friends, or people without professional dance training.
- Participation is possible in the Small Group (5–12 dancers) and Large Group (13 or more dancers) categories.
- The average age of the group may not span more than two age categories.

We are convinced that these changes will provide real added value for you. They will help us further improve the organization of our championships and, at the same time, raise the profile of dance sports in Austria to a new level.
